Odisha government to launch web portal for start-ups

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha government to launch a

web portal

for start-ups on Monday. The web portal aimed at promoting ease of doing business for budding

entrepreneurs

and creating an ecosystem for start-ups in the state. The existing and upcoming start-ups, incubators and angel networks would register them in the web portal.

“The web-portal will help in creating an ecosystem for start-ups in the state and connect them with angel funding. Besides, the portal will upload all revised provisions of Odisha start-up policy,” said

As per the Odisha Start-up Policy, financial assistance of Rs 20,000 per month for one year will be given to budding entrepreneurs. Besides, they would also get product development assistance up to Rs 15 lakh and need-based raw material assistance. There are a total 225 start-ups in Odisha.

Similarly, incubation centres can avail

capital investment

subsidy up to 50% and up to one crore. Government will also provide matching grant of equal amount to set up incubation centres to organisations, institutions and industry bodies. Currently there are 24 incubation centres in the state.

Angel networks and mentors will also be connected with the start-ups. Besides, an online learning and development programme will be given to interested entrepreneurs through the web portal. “Anyone can join the programme and learn basic business skills,” Gupta said.

The web portal will have links with the websites of MCA-21 of ministry of corporate affairs and
