Bhubaneswar: Odisha govt on Monday launched the Subhadra Grievance Redressal Module to further strengthen and streamline the grievance redressal process under Subhadra scheme in the state.
This grievance redressal module will ensure transparency, accountability, and timely decision-making. “The main aim of the module is to ensure that no eligible beneficiary will be deprived of the benefits under the Subhadra scheme,” said deputy chief minister Pravati Parida.
Through this module, grievances of Subhadra applicants, such as rejection of applications or non-receipt of benefits, will be promptly investigated, and decisions will be taken accordingly. Grievances received online through the Subhadra portal or offline through various govt levels will first be placed before the Block Level Scrutiny Committee or Urban Level Scrutiny Committee. If necessary, the committee will send the grievance petitions for field verification, official sources said.
Based on the committee report or the field inquiry report, the committee will decide on the eligibility of the applicant. Thereafter, the committee will forward the report along with its recommendation to the District Level Scrutiny Committee or the Municipal Corporation Level Scrutiny Committee. The final decision regarding approval will be taken at the district or municipal corporation level. Beneficiaries will also be able to check the status of their grievances through the Subhadra web portal.
So far, 1,09,87,894 applications have been registered under the Subhadra scheme, and more than one crore women have already benefited from it. Currently, 2,83,264 grievances are under consideration on the Subhadra portal, which will be resolved through the Subhadra Grievance Redressal Module.
To celebrate the one-year completion of the Subhadra scheme, the Odisha govt will organise special programmes across Odisha. “As a gesture of gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a ‘Thank You Modi’ programme will be held during which beneficiaries will share their journey and success stories, highlighting how the Subhadra scheme has brought positive change to their lives.
Besides, the celebrations will also be held at anganwadi centres and community health centres where Subhadra Help Desk staff will provide complete information about the scheme through special stalls and distribute awareness leaflets to spread knowledge about the scheme.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the flagship programme of the Odisha govt for the empowerment of women on Sept 17, 2024, on his birthday here in Bhubaneswar.
The scheme promises financial aid of Rs 50,000 to eligible women over a period of five years, with two instalments of Rs 5,000 every year being directly transferred to their bank accounts. The Odisha govt announced that the two instalments will be released on International Women’s Day on March 8 and on Raksha Bandhan every year.
