According to the chief minister's directive, each beneficiary will receive 15 kilogrammes of rice per month for three months (October to December).

Sources indicated that although this distribution process commenced on October 1, nearly 40 lakh families have yet to receive rice.

During the meeting, it was revealed that the state govt is implementing measures to include all registered labourers in the public distribution system.

"Among the 1.30 crore registered in the e-labourers system, nearly all have been included, while 1.31 lakh labourers remain," a statement from the CMO reads.

It states that the chief minister has instructed that these labourers be promptly included in the state's food security scheme.
