Objection to untimely Iskcon’s Rath Yatra, Snana Yatra

Rourkela: Arun Kumar Praharaj, founder of Global Odia Diaspora and Bahrain Odia Samaj, objected to Iskcon conducting Rath Yatra and Snana Yatra abroad on dates not aligned with the Jagannath temple calendar. These rituals rooted in centuries-old tradition, must follow prescribed timings linked to Snana Yatra, Anasara, Rath Yatra and Bahuda. He said the festivals are sacred and not logistical events. He cited objections from Gajapati Maharaja, SJTA and religious leaders. Referring to events in Houston and Watford, he urged Iskcon to respect traditions, stating global Odia bodies observe the rituals even under constraints.
