Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday attended the 11th day rites of former two-time Rajya Sabha member Pyarimohan Mohapatra, who passed away on March 19 in Mumbai.
According to sources, Naveen offered flowers on the photo of his one-time advisor. The chief minister spent around 10 minutes at the venue here. Naveen reportedly spoke to some of the family members of Mohapatra.
Naveen accompanied by some of his cabinet colleagues had paid tributes at the city airport when Mohapatra’s body reached the Biju Patnaik international airport from Mumbai on March 20.
Among others, a number of ministers like P K Amat, Pradeep Maharathy, Arun Sahoo, Sanjay Das Burma and Badri Patra besides BJD MLAs also offered tribute to Mohapatra.
Also, chief secretary A P Padhi, senior bureaucrats, retired bureaucrats, leaders of other political parties and people from different walks of life also attended the 11th day ritual.
