Bhubaneswar: Feature film ‘Pratikshya’ has been selected as the best Odia film at the 69th National Film Awards 2023 announced on Thursday. The film portrays a father-son relationship inspired by a short story written by Gourahari Das.
“It is a proud moment for all of us. A film that gets national award as well as becomes commercially hit is a rare thing. I thank all the jury members and audience who loved the film. The secret of making successful movies is to keep it simple,” said director Anupam Patnaik.
Eminent filmmaker Sabyasachi Mohapatra, who was on the jury of the national awards, said: “The selection was tough this year as there were around 10 movies. Honest approach of the film and beautiful portrayal of the sentiments of middle class impressed the jury members.”
