BHUBANESWAR: Two siblings, aged 11 and 15, were shot at and injured by unknown miscreants in their home at Bhangamunda village in Angul district in the early hours of Friday.

Police sources said the elder sister, Jagyaseni Mirdha, was in a serious condition, while her younger brother, Prakash Mirdha, remained stable.

Following a deterioration in her condition, Jagyaseni was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Prakash is undergoing treatment at Burla Hospital in Sambalpur district.

"Our investigation is in progress to identify the perpetrators and ascertain the motive of the firing on the two minor children," Angul SP, Rahul Jain, told TOI.
