Koraput: A wedding in Dulaguda village on Sunday evening took an unexpected turn when police arrived at the venue and took away the groom, Bipin Samartha, following allegations from his first wife that he was marrying again without divorcing her.
The ceremony was in full swing, with guests enjoying the food and music playing in the background. Just as the rituals were about to begin, police intervened, escorting the groom to the police station.

Yamuna held a protest, demanding justice. Carrying an invitation card and accompanied by her 16-year-old son, she alleged that Bipin was marrying another woman without legally divorcing her.
Yamuna, also a resident of Dulaguda, claimed she and Bipin had been married for 17 years and have a son together. However, Bipin allegedly decided to dump her and marry Gamoti Samartha, also from the same village.
"How can he marry another woman while abandoning me and my son without obtaining a divorce?" questioned Yamuna. She further stated that she had filed a complaint at Borigumma police station on Feb 28, but no action was taken. Frustrated by the inaction, she protested on Sunday, leading to police intervention.
Jugal Sa, inspector in-charge of Borigumma police station, said, "A case has been registered and the wedding has been stopped. The groom has been detained and an investigation is underway to verify the allegations made by the first wife. Necessary action will be taken based on the findings."
