Bhubaneswar: CM Mohan Charan Majhi left for Kolkata on Thursday evening to lead a 2-day investors’ meet and roadshow on Friday and Saturday, official sources said.
On the 1st day of the investors’ meet, the CM will attend sectoral round tables on textiles, metal and downstream, besides plastic, chemicals and petrochemicals. He will also address a gathering of investors, showcasing Odisha’s friendly policies and ease of doing business.

On Saturday, the CM will have a round table with potential investors in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors. Odisha recently came out with a new pharmaceutical policy to attract investments in the sector. This apart, the CM will also showcase Odisha’s new tourism policy to the investors.
Chief secretary Anu Garg said she will also be in Kolkata on Friday to attend the investors’ meet.
With transparent policy and attractive incentives, the state was gaining investors’ confidence, she said.
Last month, the chief minister led a major investment roadshow in Hyderabad, where he showcased Odisha’s industrial strengths and held 1-on-1 meetings with industry leaders. The meetings focused on chemicals, metal downstream and pharmaceutical sectors, with the state highlighting its dedicated industrial parks, robust infrastructure and single-window clearance system to prospective investors.
Odisha’s newly launched Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Policy–2025 aims to position the state as an eastern hub for pharma and med-tech manufacturing. Unveiled at the Odisha Pharma Summit 2025, the policy targets Rs 25,000 crore in investments and the creation of 1 lakh jobs by 2030.
Odisha also strengthened its tourism framework through the Tourism Policy (Amendment) 2026, which seeks to boost investment, promote sustainable tourism and ensure balanced regional development. Key reforms include lowering the minimum investment threshold for 3-star and above hotels from 50 rooms to 10 rooms, simplifying norms for expansion of existing units, and expanding special tourism zones to high-potential destinations such as Hirakud, Satkosia, Similipal, Ratnagiri–Udayagiri–Lalitgiri, Gandhamardan and Bhitarkanika.
