BHUBANESWAR: Amidst controversy over selection of films for the 31st State Film Awards for the year 2019, the Odisha government on Monday gave away the awards at a glittering function at Utkal Mandap here.
Veteran producer and director Ghanashyam Mohapatra received the Jaydev Purashkar for lifetime contribution to Odia film industry. Mohapatra received a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a certificate of honour.
Filmmaker Nila Madhab Panda’s national award winning film Kalira Atita received four awards in different categories, including the coveted Mohan Sundar Dev Goswami award for best film. Nila Madhab Panda received the best director award, Pitabasa Tripathy bagged best actor and Kalinga Keshari Nayak got best art director award for the film. Babu Bhaijaan Kotie re Gotie Mana each received awards in five categories while Sala Budhara Badla received awards in four categories. Shivani Sangeeta got the best female actor award for Babu Bhaijaan, while Rabindra Behera received Pramod Pati Samman for best cinematography for the film.
