Jayanarayan raps govt for ending House session midway
Bhubaneswar: Leader of opposition Jayanarayan Mishra on Saturday lashed out at the state government for adjourning the assembly sine die ahead of its April 6 schedule. He claimed that fearing an attack from the opposition on various issues, including the deterioration of law and order in the state, the government stopped the session midway.
“The government is an escapist,” Mishra, while addressing media persons here, said, adding, “According to the schedule, seven bills would have been passed in the assembly, but the government discontinued the house session and ran away without passing the bills.

It could not even pass the OBC (Amendment) Bill 2023 and duped the OBC community yet again.”
The BJP leader further said, “The law does not take its own course in Odisha as we saw how a cabinet minister and then a minor boy in Jharsuguda were murdered.”
Mishra added that a fake government is running the state. “Here many things are fake, starting from certificates to medicines and the 5T. People are worried about BJD’s corruption,” he said.
“We would have discussed many issues in the assembly today, like the murder case of Mamita Meher murder and the mysterious suicide of Gobinda Sahu, corruption in different departments and projects, loot of minerals, bad state of education, distress sale of paddy and farmers’ woes, border dispute, Mahanadi water dispute, forest fires and other problems plaguing the people,” he said.
The government’s chief whip, Prasanta Kumar Muduli, said the opposition has created disturbances while discussing different issues in the assembly. “They do not have any intention to discuss the issues of common people in the house. They are only involved in doing politics,” he added.
