IIMC alumni meet held in Bhubaneswar
BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Chapter of Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA) on Sunday organized 'Connections Bhubaneswar-2016', the annual alumni meet of the IIMC. The meet saw the felicitation of six Odisha government officers under the alumni body's theme of ‘Campus-wale-Bureaucrats’.
Odisha financial services officers Aishwarya Rutuparna Pradhan and Saishree Loknath Prasad Sethi; and four Odisha information services officers were among those felicitated at the event.
IIMCAA Odisha Chapter general secretary Jyoti Prakash Mohapatra welcomed the dignitaries and laid out the agenda of the meeting. Speaking at the event, principal organizer and vice-president of IIMCAA, Prasad Sanyal, said such events promoted interaction between alumni, which was difficult given the short duration of the course. “Such get-togethers help in connecting with old pals and share old memories,” he said.
Presiding over the meeting, Odisha Chapter president Sanjay Sahoo reflected upon the significance of convening such meetings and sought participation from members in organizing seminars in future. CNN IBN Odisha bureau chief Jajati Karan terming the event an innovative step, deliberated on the rich legacy of the IIMC and said that it will help build a network of journalists and share goodwill.
The association also felicitated central committee members Prasad Sanyal, Ritesh Verma and Rashi. Vinayak Mishra offered the vote of thanks on behalf of the Odisha Chapter.
