BHUBANESWAR: Missing Indian Bureau of Mines (
IBM) officer Ibrahim Sharief's latest location has been traced to Dehradun, police sources said. Sharief, who works as assistant controller of mines here, went missing on November 25.
"We learnt that he is in Dehradun after he changed the password of his
Facebook account," said a senior police officer.
Soon after he became incommunicado, police traced his cellphone calls to Allahabad and Mughalsarai.
Though two separate teams of police had camped at both the places for nearly two weeks, they failed to trace the young officer. The teams returned to the city last week, sources said.
The cause of Sharief's sudden disappearance is still shrouded in mystery even as his family is having a harrowing time.
"It's been a month since he disappeared. Police have so far not traced him. We are worried about his safety," said Sharief's father-in-law Khasim Peera.
Police commissioner R P Sharma said, "We are inquiring from all possible angles, including abduction. So far we have not got any vital lead."
