Homeopathy, ayurvedic house surgeons stipend up

BHUBANESWAR: Continuing with its pre-poll sops ahead of the forthcoming panchayat elections, the state government on Thursday announced to hike the stipend of house surgeons in homeopathic and ayurvedic colleges by Rs 2,500. The house surgeons, who were getting Rs 5,000 per month, will get Rs 7,500 per month from now on.
A government statement said the decision will benefit 190 house surgeons.One hundred homeopathic doctors at Dr Abhin Chandra Homeopathic College Bhubaneswar, Utkalmani Homeopathic College Rourkela, Biju Patnaik Homeopathic College Rourkela and Orissa Medical College of Homeopathy and Research Sambalpur will get the increased amount. Similarly, 90 ayurvedic doctors in three government-run ayurvedic medical colleges at Puri, Balangir and Ganjam will get Rs 2,500 extra per month, the government said.
