KENDRAPADA: A headmistress of a government school and another man were electrocuted at Janidapala village under Tamaka police station limits in Jajpur district on Friday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Nitu Marandi (30), the headmistress of Raighali UP School and Shyamasundar Marandi (38).
Nitu was hanging her clothes to dry at her home when she accidentally came in contact with a live wire. When she was struggling, her neighbour, Shyamsundar, came running to save her but he too was electrocuted.
Some people rushed to the spot after hearing their cries for help and switched off the power supply, said IIC of Tamaka police station Sukant Patra. Both were pronounced dead at the community health centre, Tamaka. The bodies were handed over to the family members after postmortem. A case has been registered at the Tamaka police station.
