Work on projects like the multi-level car parking lot at Jail Road, Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Centre and Mahodadhi Market Complex at Mochisahi is going on in full swing.

The pile work for construction of

Shree Setu

has also started. The Shree Setu project is aimed at decongesting the pilgrim town by linking the National Highway-316 (Puri bypass) to the Grand Road through a trumpet bridge.

The

Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation Ltd

(OBCC), under the state works department, has been assigned to take up the projects.

Since the projects taken up under the ABADHA scheme are considered top priority, regular review is being done at different levels, including by the chief minister’s office, for early completion. Different timeline has been set for each of the projects to avoid delay in implementation, said a senior government official.

To transform Puri into a world-class heritage city, the government has proposed nearly a dozen projects at an investment of Rs 3200 crore under the ABADHA scheme.
