Families opposed to affair, 2 students try to end lives

Kendrapada: Two 19-year-old students tried to kill themselves by consuming poison on the college campus in Naugaon as their families were opposed to their relationship. The boy and the girl are from neighbouring villages.The incident occurred around 3 pm when both students, who are pursuing Plus III humanities, were found vomiting on the college premises. They were taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Naugaon."Due to their condition, both students were later transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack," said P K Kanungo, IIC of Naugaon police station. "We are investigating the case thoroughly and questioning all relevant parties, including college teachers, the principal, fellow students, and family members of both students," Kanungo added.
