Disability rehabalitation centres for all districts

The state government has been planning to set up District Disability Rehabilitation Centres (DDRC) in all 30 districts, which will provide various facilities to persons with disabilities.

Bhubaneswar: The state government has been planning to set up District Disability Rehabilitation Centres (DDRC) in all 30 districts, which will provide various facilities to persons with disabilities. The facilities include creating awareness, healthcare, early intervention, residential care, vocational training and income generation opportunities.

At present, only eight districts have DDRCs. "With these centres we will include maximum number of persons with disabilities in different outreach programmes of the state," said Nitin Chandra, secretary, department of social security and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
