ANGUL: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has urged power minister Pratap Keshari Dev to set up a 220-33KV grid station at Parjang in Dhenkanal district to tide over power shortage and frequent disruptions in power supply in Parjang block of the district.
Pradhan said Parjang that has more than 2 lakh population is dependent upon Chainpala grid.
Owing to long distance and heavy load factor, people of this area have been grappling with frequent power cuts. The single sub-station available in the area is insufficient to meet the requirement, said the Union minister. Pradhan said land has been sanctioned for the grid station as per the steering committee decision in 2020 chaired by the sub-collector of Kamakhyanagar.
“There should not be any problem in setting up grid sub-stations,” he said.
