Das takes over as full-time CMD of Nalco

BHUBANESWAR: Ansuman Das, who was holding the additional charge of chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco), took over as full-time CMD of the company on Friday.
Das graduated in mechanical engineering from REC, Rourkela (now NIT) in 1976, and did his MBA from University of Hull, UK, with a British Council scholarship under the Colombo Plan.

He began his career with the HAL and joined Nalco in 1982 in the formative years as a senior engineer in project and technical (P&T) services.
Das has worked in various capacities in Nalco and was later appointed as general manager (marketing). He was instrumental in formation of various marketing policies and strategies both for domestic and overseas sales. Nalco has achieved several milestones and accolades through his initiatives.
He was head of materials department as its executive director for a brief period before taking over as director (commercial) of Nalco in October, 2009. He was also holding the additional charge of director (human resources) for a brief period in 2012, and now holds the additional charge of director (finance).
He was given the additional charge of CMD of the company in August, 2012. He is known both nationally and internationally for his contribution to the industry during his three-decades-long professional association with the aluminium industry.
