Cuttack: A 14-year-old girl has been allegedly missing since leaving home for tuition classes on April 24.
According to her family members, the girl had stepped out in the afternoon for her regular tuition but failed to return home. Initially, relatives searched for her in nearby localities and reached out to friends and acquaintances, but no information about her whereabouts could be found. Thereafter, the family lodged a formal complaint at Chauliaganj police station. Police have registered a missing case and started a probe.
IIC Chauliaganj, Beauty Mohanty, said, “Teams are scanning CCTV footage from nearby roads and establishments to track her last movement. We are also questioning people in the locality and her known contacts to gather clues. Efforts are on to track her.”
Her family expressed distress over the delay in tracing the girl and appealed to the authorities to expedite search operations. The minor’s father said, “We are extremely worried. It has been four days, and there is still no sign of her. We urge police to find our daughter as soon as possible.”
Police officials, however, assured that all necessary steps are being taken and efforts are on to trace the girl at the earliest.
