2023 Asian Games: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik announces Rs 1.5 crore reward for hockey star Amit Rohidas

BHUBANESWAR: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced a cash award of Rs 1.5 crore for Odisha's Amit Rohidas, part of the gold medal-winning Indian men's hockey team at the 2023 Asian Games.
The chief minister acknowledged Amit's outstanding performance and said he is an inspiration for youngsters not only across the state but also in the country. "Amit Rohidas' remarkable achievements exemplify the spirit of perseverance and excellence.He has become a symbol of hope and pride for aspiring athletes... His success story resonates with every individual striving to achieve greatness, and we are immensely proud of his accomplishments," a statement from the CM's office, quoting Naveen, said.
Amit, hailing from Sundargarh, honed his skills at the Panposh sports hostel in Rourkela.
