Clinic sealed for sex test of foetus

Cuttack: The health department on Wednesday sealed an unauthorised clinic here over allegations that it was conducting illegal sex determination of foetus.
Cuttack chief district medical officer (CDMO) Satyabrata Chhotray said, “Acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted at the clinic where illegal sex determination was done using a portable ultrasound machine. The clinic’s officials were unable to produce valid documents.Statements of several patients have been recorded and a probe is on.” TNN
