‘Centre working on preserving Sun Temple’

Bhubaneswar: The Union minister of state for culture, Meenakashi Lekhi, here on Wednesday said the Centre is working towards preserving the Sun Temple in Konark. Speaking to media persons, she said, “We have taken technical support from different IITs. The structure has been damaged over time and the nature of stone is different too. Saline waves and atmosphere are leading to erosion of stones and we are using chemical treatment for preserving them.” tnn
