Bhubaneswar: Rail connectivity in the state is set for a significant boost with the Centre approving a new Amrit Bharat Express connecting Podanur (Coimbatore) and Dhanbad, routed through nine major stations in Odisha.
The service, cleared recently by the ministry of railways, promises smoother long-distance travel and improved access for passengers across southern and western parts of the state.
In a communication to CM Mohan Charan Majhi, railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the new train was approved following discussions on enhancing connectivity between Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand.
The route includes stops at Rayagada, Muniguda, Kesinga, Titlagarh, Balangir, Bargarh road, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Rourkela, covering as many as seven districts across a wide stretch of the state.
