Bureaucratic reshuffle: 20 IAS officers shifted in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: The state government on Monday shifted at least 20 IAS officers in what was the first major reshuffle in the higher echelons of bureaucrats after Gokul Chandra Pati took over as chief secretary earlier this month.
Rural development secretary C J Venugopal was made the new home secretary. Additional chief secretary finance U N Behera was holding the additional charge of home.
Agriculture secretary Rajesh Verma was given additional charge of cooperation while cooperation secretary Bishnupada Sethi replaces Sanjay Rastogi as CMD Omfed.
Water resources secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra swapped places with energy secretary P K Jena. Mohapatra was also made officer on special duty of Jagannath temple for the 2015 Nabakalebara in Puri. Health secretary Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra was posted as rural development secretary. He will hold additional charge of chairman, Odisha Mining Corporation, and continue in his earlier assignment as special relief commissioner.
Science and technology secretary Surendra Kumar replaced Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra as ST and SC development secretary. Mishra was made IT secretary. He will also hold the position of chief executive officer OCAC.
Balasore collector Aravind Agrawal swapped places with Puri collector Dhiren Patnaik.
