In his message, Sunak said, "Congratulations on your 25th anniversary. It's not only the longest-running grass-roots film festival in the world, it's also one of the most popular. Over the past 25 years we've accomplished so much, showcasing South Asian talent, spotlighting film-makers, and telling us stories that make us laugh and cry. This year will be no different with the premieres of acclaimed new films such as Sanaa or Whispers of a Storm."

Whispers of a Storm is set in the backdrop of a village devastated by Cyclone Fani, which hit the coastal belts of Odisha in 2019. The lead roles have been essayed by Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Swastik Choudhury, Priyanka Ghosh Roy and Radha Krushna. The music has been scored by Kisaloy Roy and the sound design is by Sujoy Das.

The team of 'Whispers of a Storm' recently launched the trailer of the film in a sombre remembrance of the fourth anniversary of Cyclone Fani.
