Bhubaneswar: BJP has bolstered its presence in Odisha with induction of several former BJD leaders, including Bhagirathi Bal, the former sarpanch of Jagannath Prasad panchayat and BJD district general secretary. This move comes as BJP celebrates 17 months of governance in the state, underlining its commitment to fulfilling its manifesto promises and driving development.
BJP, recognised as the largest political party globally, currently governs 21 states in India, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the helm, working towards a developed India by 2047. The party’s influence in Odisha has been growing, with increasing support for the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi, a party statement reads.

At an event at the party state office, BJP state president Manmohan Samal emphasised the importance of building a strong organisational base. The induction ceremony saw new members welcomed with caps and scarves, symbolising their commitment to the BJP’s vision for Odisha’s development.
The BJP’s “double-engine” govt model, which focuses on comprehensive development across sectors such as education, health, and transportation, continues to gain traction. The party’s efforts in the Basudevpur constituency of Bhadrak district have been particularly noted, with the organisation becoming more robust, it reads.
