Bhubaneswar: BJD held a padyatra and rally in Nuapada on Sunday, rallying behind its candidate Snehangini Chhuria for the upcoming by-election.
The march, which began at a temple and culminated at the district collector’s office, drew over 15,000 supporters, including senior party members and grassroots workers. Many residents lined the streets to greet Chhuria.
BJD members praised the legacy of former MLA late Rajendra Dholkia, attributing BJD’s consistent electoral success in the region to his contributions and the leadership of former chief minister Naveen Patnaik. Speakers highlighted the significant progress in education, healthcare, irrigation and infrastructure under BJD’s governance.
At a street corner meeting near the collector’s Office, senior BJD member Debi Prasad Mishra and others criticised the BJP govt, accusing it of neglecting Nuapada’s needs and failing to deliver on development promises.
