Bhubaneswar student receives award from President

BHUBANESWAR: Yash Mishra, a Class XI student of the city, received the

Bal Shakti Puraskar 2020

from President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday.


Mishra received the award under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar for outstanding scholastic achievement. He received a cash award of Rs 1 lakh, a tablet, a medal, a certificate and a citation.

An outstanding student, Mishra has already received many prizes at essay and debate competitions at the state, national and international levels. The boy has also received the exceptional achievement award from the state government.

The only son of Kamala Kanta Mishra, assistant general manager with Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited, and Sanghamitra Mishra, the student has represented India at the Asian Mathematical Olympiad in Singapore and won a gold. His merit has led him to win educational excursions to the US, Singapore and UK.
