Berhampur: The Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) is planning to set up a centralised kitchen to supply cooked food to Aahaar centres and night shelters located in the civic area. There are six Aahaar centres and one night shelter operating in the Silk City where food is served to over 4,000 people at an affordable rate daily. One Aahaar centre, located near MKCG Medical College and Hospital, supplies both lunch and dinner. Presently, food prepared by Nandi Foundation at a central kitchen is supplied daily to all Aahaar centres. “We have planned to set up our own central kitchen to prepare food and to supply all Aahaar centres located in the BeMC area,” said J Sonal, BeMC commissioner.TNN
