BHUBANESWAR: With golden jewellery getting costlier by the day, the demand for artificial fashion jewellery is on the rise. The craze for artificial fashion jewellery was evident at the two-day jewellery exhibition here with women from different walks of life, including professionals, housewives, actors and models, turning up in large numbers to get their hands on the large variety of designs on offer.

"These jewellery sets are elegant, fashionable and affordable. Besides, there is no threat of theft or burglary. Then, if you get something with a designer, then nothing like it," said Sriparna Dutta, a visitor.
A collection of about 1,000 pieces of different jewellery sets were on display during the fashion jewellery exhibition organized by 'Art Karat', which started on Wednesday.
"This collection has been inspired by temples of India and the exquisite carvings there. We also tried to give some divine touch to these jewellery pieces by adding Rudraksh and small idols of Ganesh and Laxmi," said Sushil Kumar, production manager of Art Karat. This is the fourth exhibition of the jewellery brand in the city.
Odia film actor Prakruti Mishra said, "There are so much benefits of wearing fashion jewellery. They are glamorous and stylish and at the same time they are available in a large variety. One car sport these jewellery sets with all kinds of dresses and occasions. Even though they are studded with precious and semi-precious stones, these jewellery sets are not heavy and give an elegant look."
