Archita, Mihir named best actors at 30th Odisha film awards

BHUBANESWAR: Eminent filmmaker Manmohan Mohapatra’s film Bhija Matira Swarga has swept the 30th State Film Awards in six categories including best film, best director and best actor (male). State culture and tourism minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi announced the awards for 2018 here on Tuesday.

The film Bhija Matira Swarga has been adjudged the best feature film and its producer Akshay Parija will get the prestigious Mohan Sunder Dev Goswami Samman. Manmohan has been selected best director and Mihir Das best actor (male) for the film. Dillip Ray has been selected best photographer, Asutosh Mohapatra got award for best screenplay and Nandlal Mohapatra for best dialogue writer for the film Bhija Matira Swarga.

“This year we received a total 21

films

. Most of them are good films. The jury members unanimously decided the awards,” said Sabyasachi Mohapatra, chairman of the jury.

The State Film Awards 2018 were announced in 27 categories. Noted writer Bijay Mishra will get the prestigious Jayadev Award for his lifetime contribution to Odia film industry. Archita was selected best actor (female) for the film Champion. Manoj Mishra has been chosen best supporting actor (male) for Champion while Shivani Khara bagged best supporting actor (female) for Pheri Aa.

D Niranjan Reddy has been adjudged best story writer for movie Ole Ole Dil Bole while Basantraj Samal has been selected best lyricist for the movie Sathi Tu Feri Aa. Karunakar got best playback singer (male) for Pheri Aa and Antara Chakraborty bagged best singer (female) for Sathi Tu Pheri Aa.

Rakhi has been chosen best comedian for Deewana Heli To Pain and Sarthak Hota (best child artist) for Pheri Aa. Sangram Maharana bagged the best art director award for Pheri Aa. Moreover, Munna Babu has been adjudged best choreographer for Pheri Aa. The culture department also announced the 7th State Tele Film Awards on the occasion.
