BHUBANESWAR: At least 45,000 students on Sunday took the All India Pre Medical Test (
AIPMT) in Bhubaneswar, Rourkela and Berhampur, an officer of Central Board of Secondary Education (
CBSE) said.
While 25,000 students took the test at 33 centres in the state capital, the rest appeared at six centres in Berhampur and four in Rourkela.
Admissions to central medical and dental institutions and 15% central quota seats in medical colleges of different states would be done on basis of all-India merit list of AIPMT.
A state-level merit list of the AIPMT would be the basis of admission to medical colleges in the state.
CBSE sources said the results are likely to be announced on June 5.
In a last moment hitch, some candidates were not allowed to enter the examination hall at different centres due to unattested admit cards. "I forgot to attest the admit card from a gazetted officer for which they did not allow me to take the test. I lost a year because of this," said a candidate, adding, "When the Union government has scrapped the system of attesting documents, whey were they so rigid about it?"
A senior officer in CBSE office here said, "It has been clearly mentioned in the application form to attest the admit card and also bring extra photographs to avoid duplication. The candidates should be serious about guidelines and rules mentioned in the brochure."
