Rourkela: Three senior treatment supervisors (STS) of three community health centres (CHCs) in Sundargarh district have been terminated from their jobs by chief district medical officer & public health officer, Sundargarh, recently for allegedly siphoning off the amount meant for the nutrition of TB patients.
They are
Anil Kumar Pati of Kinjrikela CHC,
Ritesh Kumar Naik of Kuanrmunda CHC and Bibhuti Bhusan Das of Hatibari CHC. TB patients receive Rs 1,000 a month for nutritious food under the national Ni-Kshay Poshan Yojana (NPY) and it is directly transferred to their bank accounts.
Under this programme, the said amount was reportedly given to about 19,000 TB patients in 17 blocks of Sundargarh district from March 2020 to March 2025. But in 10 out of these 17 blocks, the amount of 400 patients was siphoned off as the amount was deposited in accounts other than the patients.

Suresh Chandra Mohanty conducted an enquiry and issued show cause notice to some suspected officials. Mohanty said enquiry is underway about the involvement of other officials.
