Berhampur: Three more associates of former MLA (Sanakhemundi) Ramesh Jena have been arrested by police. Pintu Jena, 25, nephew of the former MLA, was arrested on Saturday while Sailendra Kumar Sahu and Gouri Shankar Patnaik were arrested on Friday.

Pintu is allegedly involved in assault on members of a marriage party at Gate Bazaar about a month ago, attack on a person at Gate Bazaar and bombing near the house of Ranjit Nayak, corporator, Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BMC), said IIC, Town police station, NK Pradhan. Earlier three persons, including the ex-MLA, were arrested in the bombing incident near corporator's house.

Sahu and Patnaik were arrested for helping Jena grab land belonging to Gopinath Sahu in Nimakhandi on the outskirts of the city, said sub-divisional police officer (Berhampur Sadar) AK Mohanty.

Meanwhile, police have registered one more land grabbing case against the former MLA at Purushottampur police station. He and his associates allegedly grabbed a land near Tara Tarini Temple under Purushottampur police limits. His associates, Murali Mohan and Kiran Panda, were also involved in the case. "During investigation, we found Jena and his two associates were involved in the case," said IIC, Purushottampur police station B K Sahu.
