12-year-old boy drowns in Mahanadi
Cuttack: A 12-year-old boy drowned on Thursday while taking bath in the Mahanadi near Bhattarika temple in Cuttack district’s Badamba area. Police have recovered the body of Alexander Jagannath Prasad Nayak of Sashanka village near Badamba. Police said Alexander accidentally slipped into the water. Alexander was rescued by fire-fighters and taken to the Badamba community health centre, where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’. His body was sent for postmortem. “An unnatural death case has been registered and probe is on,” said SP (Cuttack Rural) Jugal Kishore Banoth.
