Bhubaneswar: As many as 100 short and documentary films will be screened during the 13th edition of Bring Your Own Film Festival (BYOFF), to begin in Puri from February 21.
Anyone who has made any film or been a part of it can bring their film and participate. The festival is aimed at encouraging other artistic works like paintings, pictures, sculptures and their talents in poetry, theatre, music, dance and songs, said convener, BYOFF, Debabrata Tripathy.
The festival is quite popular because there are no rules, Tripathy said. The registration is done on the spot and there is no deadline. The films start at sundown and go on till the early hours, organizers said.
This year, acclaimed filmmakers Amitabh Chakraborty and Putul Mahmood will conduct a workshop in direction, making documentaries and narrative fiction. Young filmmaker Anirban Datta will conduct a workshop for children aged 7-14 during the festival as well. This workshop is aimed at initiating youngsters into film-making and the participants can be able to make a film during the course of the workshop and screen it at the festival, Tripathy added.
