MP man grabs constable’s collar, slaps him in viral video; cop caught in brawl after trying to stop assault

BHOPAL: A scuffle at Ranvijay Chowk in Umaria turned chaotic on Saturday night when a young man allegedly slapped a police constable and grabbed his collar, a video of the incident that surfaced on Sunday shows. Police said the confrontation began when Vimal Ladia, a local man working as a court driver, was reportedly beating a mentally-challenged person at the chowk. Constable Mukesh Singh, returning home after duty, intervened to stop him. The situation escalated into a heated argument, during which Ladia allegedly abused the constable, slapped him, and held onto his collar. The viral video shows Singh slapping Ladia twice as bystanders try to separate them. Another man from the crowd is also seen hitting Ladia while he continues to resist. Kotwali police arrived at the scene after being informed and restored order. A case has been registered against Ladia under sections related to assault, and investigations are ongoing. Officials confirmed that no serious injuries were reported, but the incident has drawn attention due to the viral video and the aggressive behavior towards a police officer.
