BHOPAL: Body of a newborn baby boy was found in a drain near Link road number 3 on Monday. Body of the newborn was found wrapped in a piece of cloth and was placed in a carton. TT Nagar police said the baby must have borne on Sunday night. TT Nagar police station SHO Manish Raj Bhadoria said residents of Panchsheel Nagar, who spotted the carton reported the matter to police.
When the carton was brought out of the drain, people were shocked to find body of the newborn. Police suspect the child was abandoned in a couple of hours of the birth of child. It has been sent for post-mortem at Hamidia hospital. A case has been filed and the police are trying to find out mother of the baby.
Earlier, on December 14 last year, a newborn baby was thrown off in a dustbin in South TT Nagar area of state capital. Thousands of ants were found crawling on new-born by some passersby. Later, police found out unmarried mother of the baby, who had allegedly dumped her child.
