Woman sub-engineer and BMC team attacked during water tax collection drive

Bhopal: A team of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) including a woman sub-engineer was attacked when they had gone to collect water tax in Ayodhya Nagar on Thursday.
Police said that the complainant Priya Saraswati Mishra is a sub-engineer in BMC. She stated in her complaint that BMC launched a drive to collect water and property tax. Around 12.30pm, when the team was collecting taxes in Arjun Nagar in Ayodhya Nagar, the team reached the house of a water tax defaulter identfied as Nisha Sahu.The team officials told Nisha that she will have to deposit water tax otherwise their water supply would be disconnected. Nisha got furious over disconnection of water supply and started protesting. When Priya tried to counsel her, she scuffled with her and threatened to kill her. Police have registered a case against Nisha, her brother Rahul and their neighbour Deepak and started investigations. TNN
