BHOPAL: A 27-year-old woman was allegedly raped by an accused, who hails from her hometown, in Bagsewaniya locality on the pretext of marriage for around three years.
Investigating officer SI Kanchan Rajput said that the survivor, 27, hails from Betul district and resided here in Bagsewaniya locality. She works in a private finance company. She alleged in her complaint that the accused Pushp Kumar hails from Betul. She alleged that the accused too worked in Bhopal earlier and they came in contact being from the same place. They became friends and the accused took her to a hotel in Bagsewaniya where he raped her. When she protested, the accused promised to marry her. He exploited her physically since then on the promise of marriage. Around four months back, he refused to marry her and returned to his native town. After many efforts, when he did not consider marrying her, she felt cheated and reported the matter to the police. A case was registered against the accused and further investigations were on.
