Bhopal: A 26-year-old married woman was allegedly abducted from Aishbagh locality and raped at a hotel in Ujjain by a social media friend. The woman somehow rescued herself from the clutches of the accused on Monday and approached Aishbagh police station to lodge a complaint.
Investigating officer SI Gaurav Pandey said that survivor stated in her complaint that around 20 days back, she came in contact with the accuse through
Instagram.
He pressurised the woman to meet him and tried to molest her in the first meeting. “When the survivor protested, he apologised and on May 11, he again lured her to meet him in Aishbagh,” said SI Pandey adding that when she went to meet him, he took the survivor to Ujjain on the pretext of an outing.
The SI said that the accused booked a hotel room in Ujjain and raped her threatening her of dire consequences. Since then, he held her captive. During that period, the survivor’s family members lodged a missing person’s complaint.
SI said that a few days back, the accused brought the survivor to Bhopal and held her hostage in a room in the city; on Monday the woman somehow got a chance to escape.
