Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Anand Kaladgi said Brajesh Mishra, 39, the director of Madhotal Construction Company, had been in an extramarital relationship with Anika Mishra, an employee at his firm, for over a year.

Upon discovering the affair, Brajesh's wife, Shikha Mishra, confronted the woman. On Wednesday, Shikha and Anika met at the home of Sonam Rajak to discuss the matter.

During the heated discussion, the argument escalated, leading Shikha to attack Anika with a knife, stabbing her three times in the stomach. When Sonam attempted to intervene, she was also stabbed in the neck. Shikha fled the scene on her scooter following the attack.

Both victims were rushed to the hospital. Despite efforts, Anika succumbed to her injuries, while Sonam remains in critical condition.

Shikha later boarded a Mahanagari train to Katni, but after receiving alerts, authorities arrested her at Satna railway station and handed her over to police. Brajesh Mishra has also been detained for questioning regarding the incident.
