Woman constable’s body recovered from water tank, suicide suspected

Bhopal: The body of a 47-year-old woman constable was recovered from the underground water tank of her closed house at Sukh Sagar Colony in Ratibad locality on Wednesday. Her body was found floating in water in the 10-feet deep tank. The woman had got the job on compassionate ground around a year back after her husband’s death. Initial police investigations revealed that she died by suicide but the case is being investigated from all angles. The woman had left home to go to take part in the parade. When she did not return, the family members started searching for her and found her body in the underground water tank. Ratibad police reached the spot and registered a case. SHO Ratibad Jayhind Sharma said that the deceased Kiran Yadav, a resident of Police Lines Nehru Nagar, was a constable. Her husband Premnarayan Yadav was an assistant sub-inspector in Traffic police. He died a few years back after which Kiran got a job on compassionate ground. Kiran would go to attend the parade daily at the district reserve police line in the morning around 5am and return around 10am. When she did not return home on Wednesday, her family members called her. When they couldn’t reach her, they called the DRP Lines and found out that she did not turn up to attend the parade. They started searching for her and reached their locked house in Sukh Sagar Colony in Neelbad. The channel gate was found open and when they went inside, they found Kiran’s body floating in the underground water tank. SHO Sharma said that Kiran resided with her elder sister Rani, daughter-in-law Priyanka and grandson. She had two sons but both died in the past. She remained depressed after her sons’ death.
