Western percussionist and composer Payton MacDonald is offering classes in classical music at Dhrupad Sansthan here, according to a press release here on Monday.

BHOPAL: Western percussionist and composer Payton MacDonald is offering classes in classical music at Dhrupad Sansthan here, according to a press release here on Monday. Bhopal's Padma Shri Gundecha Brothers are currently hosting MacDonald, a senior Nehru-Fulbright fellow at their Dhrupad Sansthan.
MacDonald is an associate professor music at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. MacDonald has been studying Hindustani music for many years, first as a tabla drummer and recently as a singer. He is a senior Nehru-Fulbright fellowship, a competitive award given to outstanding American scholars and artists from different fields for study in India.
Dhrupad Sansthan is accredited under UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee and affiliated with USIEF (United States-India Educational Foundation).
