NEW DELHI: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the Sarsi Island Resort in Shahdol district of Rewa Division on Saturday, calling it a new landmark for the state’s tourism industry.

Located in the backwater region of the Bansagar Dam, the resort offers tourists a boat club, a restaurant, and a range of recreational amenities. CM Yadav was accompanied by Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla and state Tourism Minister Dharmendra Singh Lodhi for the launch event.

In a post on X, CM Yadav expressed, "The world will be introduced to the natural beauty of Madhya Pradesh. Under the Jan Kalyan Parv, today I inaugurated the 'Sarsi Tourism Centre and Island Resort' in Shahdol district. This will become a new identity of Madhya Pradesh on the global map of tourism."

Following the inauguration, CM Yadav also enjoyed an electric boat ride around the resort.


Earlier, CM Yadav shared with media that the state government plans to dedicate significant initiatives to the people every day to mark the completion of its first year in office. "Today, we inaugurated this beautiful island resort as part of our efforts to boost tourism and showcase Madhya Pradesh’s natural beauty," he said.

He added that the opening of the Sarsi Island Resort is part of the government’s broader plan to promote eco-tourism, alongside other developments like the Ratapani Tiger Reserve.
