War of words between Kamal Nath and VD Sharma continues
Bhopal: In an unabated war of words between the state BJP president VD Sharma and former chief minister and state Congress president Kamal Nath, Sharma fired another salvo at state Congress chief, saying that Kamal Nath struck a deal with China during his tenure as Union minister for commerce.Speaking to media on Tuesday, Sharma said, “Kamal Nath has made the right statement that I am not up to his stature. And God should keep me this blessed this way that I do not match his stature. I am the son of a poor farmer who studied in a village school. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national BJP president JP Nadda and home minister Amit Shah that they selected a simple person like me to be the state president of the BJP.”Reacting to VD Sharma’s allegation against him on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, veteran Congress leader Kamal Nath on Tuesday morning said, “I am not of the stature of VD sharma. He should ask about his deeds from the people of his constituency, they are the biggest witness of his deeds.” Sharma further said, “I don’t want to tread that path and be of the stature of Kamal Nath. I go to a poor tribal’s home and embrace him. I accept him as a brother and go to his house with the development message of PM Narendra Modi. But in Chhindwara, Kamal Nath exploited the poor. How did he become an industrialist? What is his connection with Chhindwara? What is Nakul Nath’s (Kamal Nath’s son) relation to Chhindwara? When he lost the elections in Chhindwara, Kamal Nath fielded his wife to contest from the constituency. Then in the last Lok Sabha election he fielded his son to contest from there. Now he is preparing someone else from the family to contest the election.”The state BJP president alleged that Kamal Nath struck a deal with China during his tenure as Union minister for commerce. “People of Chhindwara want to ask how Kamal Nath became a multi-billionaire. As Union minister for commerce, he made an agreement with China. There is an allegation that he initiated a deal like a middleman with China.,” Sharma said. TNN
