Uttar Pradesh cops alerted after murder accused escapes custody
BHOPAL
: A day after murder accused Bhima Yadav escaped from police custody in Gwalior district, police have identified the key conspirator to be his brother Davendra alias ‘Fauji’.Yadav had escaped from police custody with the help of his accomplices, who attacked the police party escorting him from Gwalior to Bhopal in a vehicle. The accused threw chilli powder at police personnel on Friday. Three policemen who were along with him are being questioned.
On his return from the court, Bhima Yadav’s aides blocked the road and threw chilli powder in the eyes of cops. They snatched two INSAS rifles belonging to the policemen and fled the spot with Yadav.
Police have got images of the suspects involved in the escape. Yadav was lodged in Bhopal central jail for the last one year over the murder of a home guard and was said to be involved in more than 12 cases. Bhima Yadav is s resident of Shastri Colony, Bhind and was arrested in connection with murder of a home guard jawan Rajendra Singh in 2017. Sources say he had surrendered before the police when an ‘encounter’ was allegedly being planned. He was taken to Gwalior in a train by head constable Mayaram, constable Pramod Yadav and Vivek Sharma and was being brought in a private vehicle by road.
In the dramatic escape, Yadav’s aides took constable Pramod Yadav along with them.
Pramod Yadav reached Gwalior on Saturday. His statement is being recorded.
