Ujjain election results 2024 live updates: BJP's Anil Firojiya wins
NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, Anil Firojiya, emerged victorious in the election, securing 836,104 votes, which was 375,860 more than his closest rival. Mahesh Parmar from the Indian National Congress came in second place with 460,244 votes, falling short by the same margin.
Other candidates in the race included Advocate Prakash Chouhan from the Bahujan Samaj Party, who received 9,518 votes, Dr. Hemant Parmar from Bhim Sena with 4,976 votes, and independent candidates Suresh Bagari, Mahesh Parmar, Ganga Malviya, Anil, and Ishwarlal Varshi, who secured 2,791, 2,476, 1,295, 981, and 863 votes, respectively.
The "None of the Above" (NOTA) option was chosen by 9,332 voters, indicating their dissatisfaction with the available candidates.
Ujjain is one of the 29 Lok Sabha constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. Established in 1951, Ujjain has been reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates since 1966. The constituency went to polls on 4 phase of election, 13 May.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the schedule for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on March 16.

The voter turnout recorded for this seat was 73.82 per cent, as per the data released by the Election Commission of India.
The Ujjain constituency comprises eight Vidhan Sabha seats: Nagda-Khachrod, Ghatiya, Badnagar, Mahidpur, Ujjain North, Ujjain South, Alot, and Tarana.
The prominent candidates include Anil Firojiya from the Bharatiya Janata Party and Mahesh Parmar from the Indian National Congress.
In the 2019 elections, BJP's Anil Firozia secured victory with 791,663 votes (63.21%), while Congress's Babu Lal Malviya received 426,026 votes (34.01%).

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Prof. Chintamani Malviya won with 641,101 votes (63.08%), defeating Congress candidate Premchand Guddu, who received 331,438 votes (32.61%).
Historically, the BJP has maintained a stronghold in Ujjain, though the Congress had occasional victories, most notably in 1984 and 2009. Since then, the BJP has consistently regained control, demonstrating its dominance in this reserved constituency.
